It looks like White's Electronics new PI (Pulse Induction) detector could be showing up soon. Word has it that a field testing is in progress! I have no details on the specs of the machine, but I would love to hear from any of our readers if you "know something"

Very interesting piece from Engineer Dave Johnson
Since starting DetectorStuff, I have had the honor of speaking with quite a few "movers and shakers" in the metal detecting world. One of the most interesting people I've ran across is Fisher Engineer David Johnson. Mr. Johnson has had a hand in the design of a multitude of machines, and has had a major impact on this hobby we love. He is also a true Gentleman and Ambassador for the hobby.
I have a copy of an essay he recently presented at the El Paso Chapter GPAA. It is loaded with interesting insight and information! I encourage everyone with an interest in Metal Detectors, Gold Prospecting or Detector History to take a look! (HERE!)
(Thanks Mr. Johnson for allowing me to post this!)
Okay...I admit it! I've had it a while... but thanks Tony for your patience 'till I got it posted! Tony is a talented treasure hunter and writer with a passion for helping the less fortunate... He has worked tirelessly with the Little Samaritan program you can learn about HERE

Fisher to release 2 new detectors!
These upcoming detector releases from Fisher look very, very interesting! However, be aware, they are "upcoming" releases, so there is very little solid information available about their performance, features, etc. Beware of buying into rumors and speculation! (Although my favorite forum is the Rumor Mill :) ) When news of a new (or in this case, 2 new!) detector shows up, we all get excited! Excitement can bring unwarranted speculation like..."I hear it will go soooo deeeeep you'll be picking up magma flow deep in the Earths Crust!" or "It has unprecedented new features like an onboard coffee maker with cream and sugar dispenser".
The bad part? Almost NEVER does this kind of hype come from the detector manufacturers! It almost always perpetuated by dealers, competition, and even the hobbyists themselves! Oh well, the moral of the story here is this: Fisher has another two awesome looking detectors fixing to enter the fray at some point in the future. Will they be good? Well, the track record looks very positive! Even with the track record, rumors and speculation are just that, until they hit the market and folks start using them. I for one am excited...based purely on what I've already seen with the F75 and F4....

Merry Christmas
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said to them,
Fear not: for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born today in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men."
Your friends at DetectorStuff.com wish you a joyous Christmas and a happy New Year!

If you look at the front page of this site, you'll notice news related to Fisher and Bounty Hunter, both "children" of First Texas. Why is it that First Texas related news dominates my front page?.... Well, It's like this.... (READ MORE HERE)
Here's a scan from the new Cabela's catalog of the new detectors by Bounty Hunter.... VERY interesting! There's an ongoing discussion on this over at the "Rumor Mill" forum... Click HERE to head over....
